She helped us with different birth positions. She encouraged us to keep the atmosphere quiet and calm. She helped us decide when to go to the hospital. She gave us the confidence to labor at home as long as we wanted to.

My husband and I had no idea what to expect going into this, with it being our first child.  Jamie was a wonderful, knowledgeable, calm and respectful support system to have during the birth.  When my labor began, it was very intense and painful, and I felt frantic. I couldn't concentrate on anything. My husband helped as much as possible, but it was Jamie who was able to help redirect both of us, and offered different calming techniques to help us get through the process. I delivered my baby in the hospital, and the medical professionals there were doing their job, but their focus was on mine and the baby's physical health. Jamie's focus was on my ability to cope with labor. Without her, I would have felt lost.

Your presence! You seem very calm and reassuring by nature, and that balanced me out immensely. Offering to try different things was great as well, kept me from falling into a rut. I'd hoped for a medication-free labor, but so glad that I progressed as far as I did before the epidural and definitely could not have done it without you!

Being a first time Mom, I had no idea what to expect when giving birth. With so many unknowns, I wanted to have someone that could help guide me, support me, and be my advocate. Jamie Canning was this person for me, and I would highly recommend her to any Mom, whether a first time Mom or a 5th time Mom. Jamie has a heart of gold, a calm yet confident presence, and a level of unmatched professionalism and dedication to her craft. She genuinely cares for her clients, which was shown to me from the second we met to even weeks post partum. 

Jamie guided me through a birth plan, which was very important to me, and really listened and responded to what I wanted out of my birth. She then was my advocate during every step of the process at the hospital, to ensure that my desires were being recognized and respected by the hospital staff.

One thing that sets Jamie art from other people is her ability to stay calm and collected during a very uncalm and highly emotional situation. This ability is invaluable, and truly made a difference in my birth experience. 

During my labor and delivery, Jamie was there to guide me, recommend positions to help provide me more comfort, help to support my husband, and most importantly, help me get through the toughest, most painful moments I have ever experienced. There were so many moments when I said I couldn’t keep going, that I couldn’t do it, and I wanted to give up. I felt defeated, like the pain would never end, but Jamie really helped me to keep going and to stay strong. She helped me to find it within myself to keep moving forward, no matter how small my steps were. In a seemingly hopeless situation, Jamie helped me find my hope. She was my confidant and ever present helper, someone whom I believe everyone should have by their side during their journey to becoming a mother.
